Obituary
Dale was a kind, gentle and private man with a fierce protective streak for his family. His intelligence, strength and humor carried him through life. Always a problem solver, he seemed to find or fancy the solution to any challenge. A talented engineer, Dale spent a career improving hardware at Bell Labs and then, later, started his own engineering business. He was immensely proud of the unique solutions he invented and his patents. When the moment called, Dale’s wit and charm amused family, friends and strangers. He reveled in telling comedic stories of his rebellious acts and his time in the Marines, although his happiest moments were spent in the comfort of his home enjoying a quiet day with the love of his life, his children and his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his hard work, dedication to his family, and his enduring one-liners.

We met Flo and Dale when we lived in Naperville, Il and all of us belonged to Congregation Beth Shalom. Our friendship started between the four of us through our involvement in the Congregation and grew to a very close friendship of our families. We spent many fun times together, at the Bina home. As Dads of three daughters, Dale and I shared the wonderment of our three daughters …..that was a special place and bond between Dale and myself. In fact, both of us had a Rebekah and a Jessica….they also had Amanda and we had Rachel. We loved the fact that our girls were all great friends.
As we participated in Dale’s service via Zoom, Cindy and I smiled and laughed and cried as so many memories came back to life for us. We shared so many good times and some tough ones too. We will always cherish the times we spent with your Mom and Dad and you girls.
We wish only years of love, peace and health for you all, Rebekah, Jessica and Amanda, your husbands and children.
We know Dad no longer walks by your side; we know you will always live your lives in the way that would make him smile with pride and love. He will always be in your heart.
